Education Curriculum story can at least expect that their local programs will be funded at the same level as the state’s recommended program.
There will be additional funds for a modest salary increase for state employees, and at least a study of the fiscal impact for those who prefer preservation of health benefits after retirement to a salary increase.
While there is much to be considered as reasonable and necessary in this budget, the fact remains —more than $21,000 per minute over the next two years will be spent by your state government. Much of it will be spent for necessary and reasonable expenditures. Only time and the health of Virginia’s economy will tell if the present Administration has chosen wisely, or set us on the road toward major tax increases at both the state and local levels.
