Anderson unopposed
Robert Anderson, who was appointed by the county's supervisors in April to represent Stonewall-Hawthorn District following the resignation of Nelson Lane, is running unopposed for election to the seat. Under state law, an appointee to a vacancy must stand for election by his constituents at the next regularly scheduled election day. Mr. Anderson will serve for the balance of Mr. Lane's four-year term, which expires in 1992. Clatterbuck to visit
Jane Clatterbuck, Seventh District Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr.'s district representative, will visit Rappahannock County on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Mrs. Clatterbuck will be at the county courthouse in Washington from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. to speak with constituents about matters pending before the U.S. Congress, or about other issues of concern.
