One vote does count
On Tuesday, the county’s voters will be asked to help choose the next governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general of the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as a delegate to the state’s House of Delegates.
Regardless of your political affiliation, we urge you to vote on Nov. 7. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the endorsements made by this newspaper last week, we urge you to vote.
There have been many criticisms of this year’s race — of the enormous sums of money raised and spent — and questions raised about the implications of certain interests perhaps attempting to “buy” the election with huge contributions. But regardless of the money contributed to one candidate or another, the final choice still rests with the voters of the Commonwealth. They will make the decision by their participation in the only poll that counts —next Tuesday’s election.
