Leslie C. Nichols of Flint Hill, a sophomore at Mary Washington College, was one of three student musicians selected to perform at the Governor’s mansion in October.
The three students provided chamber music at a reception honoring the Governor-appointed “USS Chancellorsville” Commissioning Committee. The committee has worked during the past year to plan special events to recognize the commissioning of the Navy’s newest Aegis cruiser. The ship will bear the name of the town near one of the state’s best known Civil War battlefields, the Battle of Chancellorsville.
