Katie Jeffries

Mrs. Katie Lee Jeffries, 84, of Greensboro, North Carolina, widow of Robert F. Jeffries, died October 30 in Asheboro, North Carolina.

A native of Viewtown, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Erwin and Rosalie Dowdell Hackley.

A former resident of Arlington and Lynchburg, Mrs. Jeffries was a clerk for the National Geographic Society for thirty years. She was a member of Ft. Hill United Methodist Church in Lynchburg.

She is survived by a son, Ronald F. Jeffries of Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Graham Hackley of Amissville, Erwin Hackley of Luray, and Leon Hackley of Manassas; and a sister, Vera Forbes of Alexandria.

A graveside funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at Amissville Baptist Church Cemetery, Amissville, the Rev. Steve
