Civil war
relic show
On Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19, the largest Civil War show in the country will be held at the Better Living Center. Virginia State Fairgrounds on Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County.
This exciting event is held annually for the enjoyment of collectors and history buffs, who come from all over Virginia and the nation. Of special interest to those attending will be many outstanding educational displays of original uniforms, weapons, excavated relics, soldier's letters and personal items, books, prints and photographs. Thousands of items will be for sale to collectors.
The Central Virginia Relic Hunter’s Association presents this show annually as our only fund raising event. We were organized in 1980 as a non-profit organization with the purpose of studying and preserving artifacts and historical sites. We have donated funds to many historical projects and in 1988 received a commendation from the City Council, City of Richmond, for our financial commitment in the restoration of the A.P. Hill monument, according to an association spokesman.
Please join us on Saturday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults; children under 12, free with adult supervision. All profits from admissions will be donated to local historical projects.
