Wakefield students missed questions which asked that Larry Bird is the sports figure w ho didn’t play last season due to a foot injury and will earn $6 million this year; that a =48 if a/2 + a/4 = 36; that Neptune is the planet the Voyager flew past this year; that Armand Hammer is the industrialist President Ford pardoned for illegal contributions to the Nixon re-election campaign and that John Kennedy’s inauguration was the one at which Robert Frost read a poem. When the second round was over Wakefield was ahead, 100 to 65.
Round Three wras all toss-up questions, worth 10 points each. Both teams added 50 points to their scores during this round to finish Wakefield 150, Rappahannock 115.
Rappahannock has been eliminated from this year’s Pop Quiz competition, while Wakefield will join 15 other teams which will advance to the second round.
