Spaghetti dinner Jan. 11

The annual seventh-grade spaghetti dinner has been rescheduled for 5 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. The RCES band and choir program will follow the dinner, at 7:30 p.m. Prices are $6 for adult, all you can eat, $5 for single serving and $3 for children under 10. Murder Mystery at The School

House

A murder mystery dinner show will be held at The School House Restaurant and Inn, Flint Hill, Friday, Jan. 19. All murder mysteries include a three-course meal for $49.95. Mystery starts promptly at 7 p.m., with a clue-gathering cocktail hour. Mystery ends around 10 p.m. For reservations, call The School House at 675-3030.

Monthly dancing planned

A series of 12 monthly evenings of Centra, Folk and Square Dancing is planned to celebrate the new decade of the Nineties. An organizing meeting and the first montly dance is planned for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 at Blackwater Homestead off U.S. 522 near Boston and Castleton. 'Field of Dreams'

The movie Field of Dreams will be playing at the Gay Street Theater, 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-7. In this tribute to achieving one’s dreams, Kevin Costner (as Ray) pursues his dream to raze his corn field and build a baseball diamond so that the deceased “Shoeless Joe” Jackson and other spiritual players of the past can play ball in it. The movie is rated PG.

Gypsy-moth open houses

Meetings will be held 6 p.m.-9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5 at the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church (intersection of U.S. 522 and Route 626 at Scrabble). The purpose of the open houses is to inform the public about the gypsy moth and to obtain public involvement in the treatment decisions that will be implemented in the spring of 1990. The proposed treatment program is part of the federally funded Appalachian Integrated Pest Management Project (AIPM), which included approximately the southern third of Rappahannock County. The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will meet, noon, Saturday, Jan. 6 at the courthouse, to elect offices for a two-year term.

Aerobic workout planned

NSDAR to meet

The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet at the "N Madison United Methodist Church, 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9. The 1 speaker will be Mrs. William H. Speiden, whose topic for the af- / temoon is to be “Prehistoric Indians, Life in the Piedmont.”

Flexercise classes
