The seedlings are grown in Department of Forestry nurseries located in Augusta, New Kent and Sussex counties. Locally grown seedlings coupled with the network of cold storages across the state assures the shipment of fresh, viable seedlings.
The seedlings can be planted for a variety of purposes. These include timber production, erosion control, Christmas trees, sight and sound barriers and improvement of wildlife habitat.
To determine the best species for your particular planting purpose, contact your local Department of Forestry office.
