“Although the 1989 tax forms clo; sely resemble those which Virginians used last year, there are some changes to be noted,” said Jack G. Petrie, IRS distict director in Richmond. “The changes result from tax law changes as well as from continuing IRS efforts to improve the , forms,” he said.
Among the changes are:
• Social security numbers are now required for dependents age 2 or older. Last year this applied to dependents age 5 or older.
• Virginians who claim the child and dependent care credit must report on their tax return the taxpayer identification number, name and address of the care provider. New
