RAAC benefit auction
Sunday, June 10 is RAAC’s Second Annual Auction and Benefit ’ Dinner at the School House Restaurant in Flint Hill. This gala evening begins at 4 p.m. with hors d’oeuvers, the auction begins at 5 p.m. and the dinner follows the auction at 6 p.m. Items to be auctioned include original works of art from many of Rappahannock’s artists as well as such diverse items as Redskin tickets, a spring lamb, 20 pints of strawberries and architectural design services. Annual talent show June 30
The Annual Rappahannock Talent and Variety Show will be held at the Gay Street Theater in Washington on Saturday, June 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Show will feature dancers, opera, folk, gospel, poetry readings, piano solos and much, much more. Come to this fun-filled evening featuring talented individuals from Rappahannock and surrounding counties. Tickets are only $5 and will be sold at the door. Dance at CCLC
Rock ‘n Roll fans of all ages are invited to join The Child Care and Learning Center on Saturday, June 2 from 8 p.m. to midnight at CCLC’s pavilion for a rock ‘n roll dance featuring the legendary Ok’s. Admission is $7 per person. Refreshments will be available. No alcoholic beverages please. All proceeds will benefit CCLC. For more information call 675-3237.
Band concert May 24
The Rappahannock County High School band, under the direction of Mr. David Orth will present its spring concert on Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. “This will be a very musical and entertaining program,” Mr. Orth said. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
Farm Show catalogs here
The Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show will be held July 26-30 at Culpeper Agriculture Enterprises on U.S. 29 South of Culpeper. Entry deadline is June 29. The 1990 Farm Show catalogs are ready and available at the Rappahannock County Extension Office on Gay Street in Washington. For information call 675-3619.
Father's Day breakfast
The second annual Father’s Day breakfast sponsored by the Flint Hill Fire Department will be held Sunday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Plan now to take the family out to a great breakfast/brunch,” said an organizer.
Mother's gathering
A mother’s gathering will be held on Thursday, May 24 beginning at 11 a.m. at Rappahannock Park. Rain date is May 31. A $2 donation will be requested. All mother’s are asked to bring a covered dish. Children are welcome. For more information call Carol Lucking at 9879308 or Jean Wright at 635-6903.
Oldway seeks artists
Oldway Craft Village, Sperryville still has a few spaces available for the Oldway demonstrating craft festival on May 26 and 27. Demonstrations are encouraged but not required. Interested artists should call the Oldway office at 987-8474.
McGlothlin reunion planned
All relatives and friends of the McGlothlin family are invited to the annual reunion to be held on May 26, beginning at noon, at the Rappahannock Park on U.S. 211 in Washington. Persons will be recognized for traveling the greatest distance, parents with the most children present, couple married the longest, and the oldest and youngest present.
