Mr. Tomeden then asked the planners if they would consider rezoning the 53 acres to R-5.

Mr. McCarthy told him there is a lot of R-2 and R-5 zoned land around Flint Hill that has not been developed. “It would be hard to make a case that there was a public need.” He pointed out that the 53-acre parcel joined more densely zoned land only at a point, and that more than the 53 acres would have to be rezoned.

“Well, I did want to get your feelings,” Mr. Tomeden said, as he prepared to leave.
