He asked if the planners would consider letting him subdivide into eight lots, with five of them being on the 53-acre parcel. “Can he transfer density from the Virginia Outdoors Foundation to the 53 acres?” Jackson District representative David Fannon asked.

“I think this is going down the wrong road,” Wakefield representative Werner Krebser said.
“It looks like you’ve got six lots, and you want to get eight lots,” Mr. Massie said. He figured that three would be allowed on the 225 acres, one would be allowed in the 21-acre lot which preceded any zoning ordinances, and two would be allowed on the 53-acre parcel. Mr. Massie noted that the property has been on the market for a year and a half.
