As Sperryville shopkeepers and merchants prepare for their annual Spring Festival, May 26-28, county and state law officials offer suggestions to keep the weekend safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Virginia State Trooper R.E. Keen reminds travelers and local motorists this is the first weekend of the summer, one known for vacationers and heavy traffic. “Everyone wants to get out,” he said, adding everyone can do so and with pleasant memories if a few safety suggestions are followed.
“Don’t drink and drive,” he said, adding motorists should wear seat belts, keep children under four or 40 pounds in child-restraint seats and obey highway signs.
