Dr. Edgar F. Puryear, jr. of

Madison will be the speaker for Rappahannock County High School Commencement which is scheduled for Friday evening, June 5 in the school auditorium. The program begins at 8 p.m. Dr. Puryear is practicing law with the firm of Berry and Puryear, Madison and is teaching at the University of Virginia.

Miss Cheryl Poling, Honorary Fire Chief of Amissville, placed first in the parade competition Friday evening at Remington. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Poling. The Flint Hill Rescue Squad was named to first place in the converted ambulance class.

Commissioner Vem L. Hill reminds Virginia passenger car owners with May decals on their license plates to renew registrations and buy new 1976 decals. “May is our heaviest month, since over 300,000 car owners have selected it for license renewal. For this reason, we ask all of our patrons to act early so as to avoid possible crowded conditions in DMV offices as the May 31 deadline approaches.

A Variety-Talent Program will be presented at the First Baptist Church Friday evening, May 30 at 7:45, to benefit the King and Queen Rally.
