Slaughter
Turner Ashby Slaughter, of Front Royal, died July 2 in Warren Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service was held July 5 in Prospect Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John P. Oliver Jr., officiating.
Mr. Slaughter was born at “The Oaks” in Rappahannock County, son of the late Francis Raymond and Pauline Warden Slaughter. He was a member of the Front Royal Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Warren County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, and Warren County’s first state trooper. He was in charge of security at American Viscose and FMC Corporation for 20 years and Treasurer of Warren County for over 16 years.
Surviving are his wife, Betsey Worden Slaughter of Front Royal; and one sister, Mary Ashby Slaughter of Alexandria.
Arrangements were handled by Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Raymond Fincham
Raymond Fincham, 73, of Slate Mills, died July 3 at his residence.
A graveside service was held July 6 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Percy Bayne officiating.
Mr. Fincham was bom October 9, 1916, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Will and Annie Fincham. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Fincham of Slate Mills; two daughters, Arlene Cave and Peggy Fincham, both of Slate Mills; two sisters, Annie Bell Bowers and Lottie Weakley both of Culpeper; two brothers, Robert Fincham and Freddie Fin
