R.E.C. do not meet minimum job requirements as set by Rappahannock Electric Cooperative? However, they do socialize with the General Manager, whose home, by the way, is not even serviced by R.E.C. We assume, by the promotions, that the new managers are at least connected.

It would appear to us that the employees at the Old Northern Piedmont Electric Cooperative in Culpeper have faired the worse after the 1980 merger with the Bowling Green Electric Cooperative, which created R.E.C. Many of the N.P.E.C. managers and employees have been eliminated over the last 10 years.

We must state for the record however, that there are many, many excellent R.E.C. employees who keep the cooperative operating and should be commended for their outstanding contributions.

Our point is simple. Things are not as they appear at R.E.C. We will pay more and more for electricity until we take an active roll in the management of “our” electric cooperative.

If you would like to join with us, The Consumers Against Rappahannock Electric (CARE) aftd find out what R.E.C. members can do to stop the waste and maximize efficiency, which will actually reduce our rates, send a postcard to: WE C.A.R.E., P.O. Box 1352, Culpeper, VA 22701. Local meetings will be held in your area soon to discuss our investigation findings and the future of R.E.C. Watch your local paper for details.
