Two little girls have been attending preschool this summer because of a grant the Child Care and Learning Center received from the state.
They are part of a group of six children that CCLC director Rose Ann Sharp expects to grow to 17 before the grant runs out next summer.
Since last Friday was a beautiful, late summer day, they spent a lot of time playing on the “big playground” in back of the school. They took an imaginary train ride on the wooden train. They visited the zoo on their ride and saw zebras and elephants and lions.
Inside, in the school’s big multipurpose room, one built with blocks while the other jumped on the minitrampoline. They made pictures, listened to stories, and played dress up.
Outside again after a nap they had a snack of watermelon, and one played at the water table while the other very neatly put small symbols between the lines on a sheet of paper, a note to her mother about her
