The September meeting of

the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors was held Saturday morning at the courthouse at 10 a.m. It was apparent through the meeting that Saturday was not proving to be exactly satisfactory for a meeting date; one Board member had to leave before it was half over; only one outside agency was represented and the number of interested citizens attending was disappointing though a hearing on the assembly ordinance was scheduled.

Until further notice the hours for Rappahannock County Selective Service offical Local Board 102 will be only two days each week: Monday and Thursday - 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Telephone: 675-3617. September Board Meeting: 8 p.m. September 16.

A Great Homed Owl and a

Red Tailed Hawk were star attractions at the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection meeting Friday night September 5. Wildlife exhibitor Buck Bradley had hoped to bring a wolf along too, but the State of Virginia refused to give him a permit to bring the wolf into the state. So Bradley gave a bit of a talk on the birds of prey and then talked about “the wolves” anyway.
