No charges filed

in fatal wreck

No charges will be filed in the accident Aug. 5 on U.S. 211 in Culpeper County which killed two children, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell.

Ms. Caldwell said only that Trooper E.J. Weaver has completed his investigation into the one-car accident and that he will not place charges against the driver, Melodi A. Goldston, 26, of Manassas.

The first statement issued by Ms. Caldwell, based on Trooper Weaver’s accident report, said that alcohol and excessive speed were suspected as the cause of the accident.
