The Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. State Board meeting will be held on Sept. 24 and 25, 1990 at the Radison Hotel in Lynchburg. Mrs. DeWitt B. Casler, State President will be presiding.

The Virginia Council of Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judges Fall Meeting will be held on Sept. 25, at 10:30 a.m., following the state board meeting.

Mrs. Edward W. Purnell of Cleveland, Ohio, a Master Judge and Nationally Accredited Instructor in Design will present a luncheon program entitled, “Flower Power,” at 1:30 p.m.

Symposium XXII will be held at the Radison Hotel in Lynchburg, on Sept. 25-27. It is sponsored by the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.

The symposium will open on Tuesday evening, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. with Mrs. Edward W. Purnell, of Cleveland, Ohio as instructor. Mrs. Purnell is a Master Judge and a Nationally Accredited Instructor in Design and Flower Show Procedure. Her subject will be, Allied Ethics, “Are You Desperate?”. On Sept. 26, 9-11:45 a.m. “Tablescapes”, will be her topic.

Mrs. Donald Amott of South Haven, Michigan will be the horticulture instructor. The subject will be Roses and Foliage Plants. Mrs. Arnott has served as instructor for Flower Show Schools and Symposiums in several states.
