Dance at CCLC
The Child Care and Learning Center will sponsor a dance on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 8 p.m. to midnight, with music by the OK’s. Admission is $7, with the proceeds to benefit CCLC’s scholarship fund.
Band students to meet
There will be an information meeting for beginner band students on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Rappahannock Elementary School gym. Representatives from G & M Music and Shenandoah Music of Winchester will be present for the rental of instruments. Anyone interested in the band program or having questions concerning instrumental music in Rappahannock are welcome to attend.
Heart Association Board to meet
The Board of the Rappahannock Unit of the American Heart Association will meet Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. All board members are urged to be present.
Karate classes
A 12-week series of junior karate classes will begin on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 5:15 to 6 p.m. at Child Care and Learning Center and will be taught by Artie Drago. Classes are for ages 6 to 15. Fee is $65. Beginners are welcome. Advance students classes will continue through until 6:30 p.m. Call Artie Drago at 635-7554 for more information.
Coppage reunion
The family of the late George and Florence Coppage will hold their reunion on Sunday, Sept. 23 on Rt. 211 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. All relatives and friends are welcome. “Come and join us with love,” said a family spokesperson.
NSDAR meeting planned
The first meeting of the 1990-1991 year of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR will be held Sept. 11, at the United Methodist Church in Culpeper at 1:30 p.m. Major General Joe W. Rigby will be the speaker and his topic will relate to the Bill of Rights.
Girl Scouts to meet
Junior Girl Scout Troop 547 will begin their meetings on Monday, Sept. 11, after school in the cafeteria of the Rappahannock Elementary School. Parents are asked to accompany their daughter for registration. Girls in grades 4-5 wanting to join the group are asked to stay that day and bring a permission dip to their teacher.
