Due to a water shortage in

Washington, Mayor Newbill Miller is requesting that all residents of the town do their part in the conserving of the water supply. Citizens are asked not to wash cars, water lawns or gardens. Any person observing a leak in the water lines is asked to please contact Charlie Jenkins or any member of the Town Council.

William David Campbell II of Washington has been awarded a bachelor of science degree in psychology by Tulane University, New Orleans. The degree was presented at the end of the summer semester.

For some 340 students who

eked out two more weeks of summer, the party’s over. Wakefield Country Day School opens its doors Monday, about two weeks after the county’s public schools began their session. The Huntly school will welcome students at 9 a.m. Students are asked to bring their textbooks to class Monday.

Airman Howard B. Jones, son of Roger G. and Thelma D. Jones of Sperryville, has been assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, after completing Air Force basic training. Jones will now receive specialized instruction in the aircraft maintenance field. He is a 1984 graduate of Madison County High School.
