Walter B. Fincham
Walter Burgess Fincham, 88, of Culpeper, died Sept. 1 at Culpeper Health Care Center.
He was bom in Rappahannock County on June 15, 1902.
He was retired from the Virginia Department of Highways.
His parents were the late Lonnie Fincham and Mary Fincham.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mollie Fincham of Culpeper; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Frazier of Culpeper and Mrs. Ruth Roberts of Aroda; three sons, Mr. Walter B. Fincham Jr. of Catlett, Mr. Jack D. Fincham of Culpeper and Mr. Earl Fincham of Riverdale, Md.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Betty Frazier of Culpeper, Mrs. Beck McCord, Margaret Walters and Mrs. Ginny Belle Richards, all of Orange, Mrs. Eliza Mountjoy of Quinque and Mrs. Lula Coleman of California.
Funeral services were held Sept. 4 at Clore Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sandy Martin officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Herbert Hash, Garfield Jenkins, John Nuttall, Andrew Deal, K.C. Roberts and Lewis Frazier.

Joseph I. Brown
Joseph Ivan Brown, a member of Culpeper’s Town Council from 1970 to 1982 and a former vice-mayor of the town, died on Monday, Sept. 3 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was 63.
Mr. Brown had a long list of other activities in community service in Culpeper. He was a past president of the Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department and a past captain of the Culpeper Volunteer Rescue Squad, and answered calls for both organizations for many years. He was a member of council during many of the years of its most farreaching decisions, on water and wastewater and on the local airport.
