Mothering co-op organizes

A mothering cooperative, created out of a need for support and Networking among area parents, has been developed by mothers, for mothers. Members of the co-op are entitled to a quarterly newsletter, access to lectures and workshops specific to parenting and family care, books on loan, a babysitting co-op, a surrogate grandparent program and monthly social mothers' gatherings. “As the cooperative grows, so will the services provided," said an organizer. All interested mothers are invited to attend the next meeting, a potluck lunch at the Rappahannock Park on Oct. 24 at 11:30 a.m. A $2 donation is requested to begin fundraising efforts.
