Soccer league benefit
The Rappahannock Soccer League will sponsor a “Pay to Play Day” on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. at the RCES soccer field. Donation and participation will be $5. The proceeds will go towards an awards banquet for the players. Anyone interested should contact Maggi Rogers, 987-9402 or Ozzie Pace, 547-2448.
Ham and turkey dinner
The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will have a ham and turkey dinner on Nov. 4 from 1-6 p.m. Cost for adults will be $8 and children under 12 will be $4.
Family portraits at RCES
The seventh grade class at RCES will sponsor family portraits on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Coupons are on sale now through any seventh grader. For more information contact Arthur Neufeld or Martha Kidwell at RCES (987-8259).
Pizza dinner
The seventh grade will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pizza dinner on Friday, Oct. 26 at RCES from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will run along with the Parent-Teacher Organization’s Fall Fair.
Haunted hayrides
A family fun night of bonfires and haunted hayrides will be held at Mountain Green Farm on Saturday, Oct. 27, 6 to 8 p.m. Rain date will be Sunday, Oct. 28. Bring your own hot dogs, marshmallows and blanket for your family. There will also be a costume contest for kids. Advance tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under; at the gate, $6 for adults and $4 for children. Call CCLC at 675-3237 for additional information. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.
