Virginia’s Republican U.S. Sen. John W. Warner, facing no serious opposition for his Senate seat, will likely glide into his third term with transportation still among his top priorities.

While other campaigning lawmakers are tangled in explanations for the fiscal fiasco plaguing the federal government and risk losing their bouts for re-election, Warner is expected to win the Nov. 6 election without a hitch.
