Although we’ve had a very dry fall, rain in the amount of 4 1/2 inches fell Friday night as a result of Hurricane Marco. Amissville Fire and Rescue volunteers were out early Saturday morning on a water rescue call.

I have never seen anything as ! unusual as we witnessed recently ! here at the farm. Canadian geese on i the pond began a big fuss. We saw a i hawk circling and crossing the pond, j Suddenly, he dived straight into the ! water and came up with a fish. Next j time I hope I’m quicker with the i camera. The duck that had been fly- ] ing with the flock of geese has disap- j peared, maybe he was “expelled.”

Some local residents were out j last Saturday trying their luck with ! the bow and arrow for deer. They ! are moving around now. Please be j alert for them, especially on many of i our back roads, from dusk to dawn.

If you’re missing a pet pigeon, j we’ve had a rust-colored, with white ; tail, hanging around for a couple of i weeks.

Barbara and Charlie Gore have ! returned from a trip to Pennsylva- ! nia.

Congratulations to Mr. Travis Wesley Wiley who plans to wed Alice Rae Brown of Lignum on Oct. 13. j

Have a great week and call me I with your news at 937-5024.
