It’s the third weekend in October, and for the past 33 years in Rappahannock County, this has meant the Annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale, sponsored by the Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish, Trinity Episcopal Church in historic Washington.
The 34th of this series of popular events takes place this Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Trinity Parish Hall will be headquarters for the tour and the dried flower sales room. Available here will be tickets, flower arrangements and box lunches by the ladies of W ashington Baptist C hurch.
Block tickets for three Mouses and tea are $10, single houses $3.50. The hundreds of flower arrangements have been prepared by the Women of Bromfield Parish, members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club and others.
Situated one half mile south of Route 626 and two miles off U.S. 211 is The Oaks, home of Bob and Joan Herrema. The original four room log house was built in 1949 in a grove of about 40 oaks, some of which are still standing.
