Parties hold political events
Republicans and Democrats have a full slate of conventions and mass meetings in the coming weeks.
The Rappahannock Democratic Committee will elect delegates to the 7th District Congressional Convention and to the 31 st House of Delegates Convention during a mass meeting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 in the county courthouse. Jerry Wood of Warrenton is the only candidate for the nomination.
The Congressional convention is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 7, with several politicians running for the nomination. The House of Delegates convention is 10 a.m. Aug. 31.
