“Parents who send their kids to the other school have to be concerned too,” said Mr. Longyear, citing “huge operating debt,” the establishment of a new building and moving costs among the financial problems at Wakefield School.
The night of the Wakefield Country Day meeting, said Mr. Longyear, “People were making commitments, writing out tuition checks.” He said 10 children are already signed up for second grade, where only 17 were in second grade at the school last year.
