A meeting last week in Huntly to publicize plans for Wakefield Country Day School left an organizer, Walt Longyear of Washington, Va., “very encouraged. ”
By his count there were parents representing 65 families at the Thursday night meeting to hear about faculty, finances and curriculum at the newly formed school.
Wakefield Country Day School Inc. was registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission two weeks ago as the old school Wakefield School, was being evicted from the grounds by Clydetta Lynn.
Wakefield School has announced plans to open in three weeks at the Marshall Manor retirement home in Marshall., Wakefield Country Day School has agreWhto the terms of a lease with Clydetta Lynn, according to Mr. Longyear, and will pay her about $8,000 a month for the building.
At the meeting last week Wakefield Country Day announced new details of its structure.
