Upcoming events Lecture on education Spring Mountain School is presenting its third annual lecture on education in Rappahannock County. This year, Jon Metric a seventh-grade teacher at Green Meadow Waldorf School in Spring Valley, N. Y., will give a talk entitled, “The Revitalization of the American Educational System: Helping Today’s Child Meet Tomorrow’s Needs.” The talk will address issues that are of concern to all parents with school-age children. The event will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at the new Rappahannock Public Library. Admission is free. A picnic lunch will be served at the pavilion “ram or shine” at 1 p.m. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please bring a covered dish and a beverage.
Workshop to be held A “Life is Learning” workshop will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 25 at the New Leaf Bookstore Ltd. and Organic Harvest in Warrenton. Sherry Langevin will discuss the basic concepts of astrology. She will also discuss the way the sun, moon and rising sun affect the personality. The cost is $5 at the door. Scout leaders at Fee Day Girl Scout leaders will be at Rappahannock Elementary on Fee Day, Aug. 29 with interest forms for any girl from kindergarten through 12th grade who is interested in joining girl scouts.
