‘They had to eat every three to four hours,” Ms. Clark said. Not a mother, she found the job quite a surprise. “It would take nearly an hour to feed the puppies,” she said. “I did not know what I was getting into,” she laughed, explaining bottle feeding seven puppies in the middle of the night, knowing that just three hours later the nearly hour-long job needed repeating, was quite a chore. “My sister in Sterling volunteered to take three of the puppies for the first two weeks,” she said.
