Hugh Miller, director of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, gave his. assessment of the challenges facing the Town of Wash-" ington’s preservation efforts during the Town Council meeting last Wednesday.
Following an afternoon with town officials, a walking tour of the Historic District and dinner at The Inn, Mr. Miller gave a brief talk to the council and answered questions.
The “challenge” before the town, he said, is “to have a vision and be able to understand what the choices are, and hopefully make the right decisions.”
