• Heard an update from Mr, Gooch about plans to establish a recycling container site in or near the town. He said a container could be kept at the well site, where there is now a dumpster, at a cost of only $150 per pickup. He said it would take about six months to fill the container, and County Administrator McCarthy has agreed that the county will pay rental for the remainder of the calendar year.
A motion to appropriate the pickup costs of a new dumpster passed unanimously.
• Council member Susan Parrish informed Mr. Reynolds that she still has not seen a new speed limit sign for her section of Blue Ridge Avenue. Mr. Reynolds said he has been told the 25 mph sign was already put up.
• Mr. Reynolds reported that Cardinal Abstract has finished all but one of the title searches for the town’s so-called stub streets (alleys).
