Paratore gets
scholarship
Lori Paratore has accepted a scholarship to Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Paratore, Lori was awarded a Presidential Scholarship for the 1993-94 year. She plans to study education next fall.
A Presidential Scholarship is given to those who have a high school average of 3.3 or higher on academic subjects, have an SAT score of 850 or better, and rank in the upper 10 percent of their graduating class. The scholarship, valued at tuition and fees will be renewed for three additional years with the retention of a 3.0 grade average,
Chowan College, recognized as one of the leading private liberal arts colleges of the South, returned to four-year status this fall.
Chowan offers four-year degrees in 10 areas including business administration, commercial/studio art, English, liberal studies, mathematics, printing production technology, religion, science, sports management and teacher education in the following areas: elementary K-6, secondary 9-12, art education K-12, music education K-12, and physical education K-12.
