The Thomas Jefferson Area Food Bank's Fall Hands Against Hunger fund raising campaign is approaching its goal of $35,000. With less than three weeks left in the campaign, contributions have reached a total of $30,968.32.
"We have high hopes of going far over our goal," said Food Bank Manager, Dan Bucca. “We originally set our goal just to meet basic operating expenses. However, exceeding that goal would allow us to advance the schedule of improvements to our new warehouse and take care of some recenty construction costs.”
The Food Bank’s new facility at 5(H) Henry Avenue in Charlottesville has recently been enlarged to 4,800 square feet. In addition, a 12 x 40 foot cooler freezer combination unit
