John Conry, chief executive officer of the Rappahannock National Bank, said that Mr. Miller became a director of the bank in 1969, following in his father’s footsteps. He was chosen president in 1985 and served as president until his death.
Mr. Conry said that Mr. Miller was present at every meeting and very active as a director and president. “He was a big supporter of the bank,” Mr. Conry said.
Pallbearers were Nelson Nethers, James P. Leake, J. Newbill Miller, Alphaeus Cannon, Thomas B. Massie, and Edward D. Tayloe II. Honorary pallbearers were James W. Fletcher, John Eubank Jr., Edward C. Trope, George N. Slater and H.B. Wood.
