Morocco, Afghanistan, Turkey, Portugal and Guatemala are just some of the exotic countries whose textiles and art inspire Sara Schneidman of Slate Mills.
Ms. Schneidman is an artist who is well trained in painting, ceramics and photography. For the past four years, she has been producing large brightly-colored watercolors on handmade papers, which are then used as designs for cards.
Working with 106 different designs, Sara Schneidman, Inc. sold 200,000 cards last year. Most of the cards are blank inside, and they are sold individually or in boxes of 10. They are carried in over 50 museum shops in the United States, and in
