feeders refers to those birds that do not eat from hanging feeders but eat on the ground and includes Cardinals, Towhees, White Throated Sparrows as well as other Sparrows, Juncos, Robins, Doves-many of the most desirable birds. The feeding station may be a generous platform where seeds are spread or simply a cleared area on the ground which is used consistently for scattering seed.
