Mr. Warren tried to put out the fire himself, but it was a futile attempt; the fire was too intense. He ended up with second and third degree bums on his hands and face, and his hair caught fire.

When they tried to get the main door open to get out of the house, it was difficult to open. Once they did get it open, it made the fire much worse.

Fire trucks were unable to make it.up to the house because of a steep incline on the driveway, which was covered with ice. The Warrens had to call the fire department from a neighbor’s phone, because they do not have a phone.

The Warrens have a dog and goat which were unharmed by the fire, but a macaw parrot wasn’t so lucky. . Mrs. Warren hopes to rebuild her house, and is glad that spring is coming to make it a little easier. However, she needs to live in a trailer on the property in order to do so, and hopes that someone might have one that they could lend, rent, or sell her.

What she also really needs are building materials of all kinds, 4-inch PVC, lumber, a chainsaw, circular saw, furniture and appliances. She does have a building in which to store these items. WTiat she probably needs first is to rent a machine so she can clean out the foundation.
