For this concert the Trio will be joined by Christopher Kreuger, flute, Jane Starkman, viola, and Micholas Pap, bass. Mr. Kreyger is principal flutist with the Bach Ensemble, the Handle and Haydn Society, and other ensembles. He has been featured as solist on the Great Performers Series and Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center. He serves on the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music.
Ms. Starkna performs as concertmistress and soloist with the Grande Bande of New York, and the Phila-. delphia Baroque Orchestra.
Mr. Pap has performed and recorded extensviely throughout the world since completing his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in the Hague in 1980. He recently recorded the complete symphonies of Mozart for Sony Classics.
Wendy Weinberg, manager of The Theatre of Washington, says “The Theatre is privileged to bring to Rappahannock County and the Piedmont district of Virginia these outstanding international musicians to perform music by Beethoven and Schubert, as well as to talk to the audience prior to the concert.”
The Smithsonian at Little Washington Concert Series has been “widely and enthusiastically supported,” she reports, adding that “a limited number of tickets remain available for this final concert in the current series.”
