To the Editor:

It is about time we cut through the smoke screen and get to the heart of the issues. Lt. Col. Oliver North has answered the questions which have been hurled at him time after time like javelins.

We have listened to the same old broken record long enough! It is time we give equal time to the candidate and listen honestly to what he has to say.

I am quite certain that when the people hear how Ollie wants to fight for what is right—such as: family values; education as opposed to indoctrination in the schools; spending cuts; balanced budget; welfare reform; pro-life—YES, pro-life (if ife do not respect life as it is forming in the mother’s womb, how do we expect to respect that same life dftfcr the child is born?); term limits; lifteitem veto for the President (no matter which party) to rid this nation.of the political pork that we cannot afford to carry as a millstone around our necks; waging a real war (jn crime; and last but not least on this short list is Ollie’s intent to protact our second amendment right. ;

If people are given an opportunity to come to know Oliver North for who he is—NOT what the liberals paint him to be, they will find that Ollie stands for the same values they do. Let me tell you here and now that this is why they are so afraid of Oliver North!

Are the memories of my fellow Virginians so short that they have forgotten what the atrocious Lies did to Mike Farris just last year? Have so many forgotten how 43 percent of this nation’s voters were duped 5n the 1992-Presidential election? It is time we wake up to the alarm that has been screaming loud and clear since 1992. If the people choose ribt to heed the warning, we all suffer! f

It is time we started thinking for ourselves and reject the brain-washing from the Washington insiders. Jf you are truly disgusted with the pompous arrogance of the majority of the members of Congress—do something about it and vote for the poeple who truly care about our country—people like Oliver North,

I am asking you to remember what a sacrifice Ollie and his family are making in his run for U.S. Senate. They knew the liberal media would dredge up the issues whijph had been settled so many years ago. Yet, they care more for this counSy and putting her on the right track than they do for their personal sacrifice! That, my friends, is what makes TRUE patriots! I want* a Statesman to represent me—not' a politician who is out for his own gain while representing himself rather than his Constituents.
