Another factor working for North is money. The former Marine has raised more than $6 million mostly from out-of-state sources, positioning himself for a well-financed television ad bombardment this fall. Miller has raised about $700,000 so far.
‘I’ve got a war chest and I’m going to win,* North said recently.
Firing back, Miller said North’s penchant for out-of-state money could show voters that he’s more concerned with national issues than with state needs.
“While our campaign is focusing <m the concerns of Virginians, Mr. North appears consumed by his tendency to look beyond the borders of Virginia,” Miller said.
