, Jackson Lee Smith, 80, of Front Royal died Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Warren Memorial Hospital. „

Graveside services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 24 at Prospect Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Randy OmdorfF.

Mr. Smith was bom Oct. 26, 1913, in Rappahannock County, son of the late James Edward and Bertha Jane Jewell Smith.

He was retired from FMC Corp.

Wool Rug

Belle Grove Plantation, the National Trust for Historic Preservation house museum located one mile south of Middletown will offer a traditional wool rug hooking workshop during' the month of October. The workshop will be geared to the skills of intermediate students. The workshop will be taught by Isabel Brooker.

The workshop dates are Oct. 18, 20, 15, 27, Nov. 1 and 3. The times will be from 9:30-12:30. No lunch is provide, however, you may bring along a sandwich.

'Hie object hooked will be a Fruit Bell Pull, apples, plums, peaches, grapes and leaves. The size of the Bell Pull is 12 x 24.

Business Writing

Seminar Planned

The Lord Fairfax Small Business Development Center will offer a two-part seminar entitled “Writing a Business Plan” from 7-9:15 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 5 and 6. 1

The seminar, at Lord Fairfax Community College, Middletown, will be conducted by David Schroeder, a retired business owner and adjunct professor at the college.

The seminar is designed to assist both new and existing business owners or managers who want to learn how to write to revise a business plan.
