Gun purchasers should be aware that the day a handgun is purchased is counted as the first day of the 30day interval for the next handgun purchase. If, for example, a person purchased a handgun on Jan. 31, that person would be eligible to buy another handgun on March 2, the day after the 30th day. In this timeframe, the purchaser would not be eligible to buy a handgun in February.
Exceptions to the one-handgunpurchase-per-30-days law have been made for estate sales, lawful business of personal use, and for collection series. Multiple handgun purchase application are processed through State Police offices.
