He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barabara Leighty and two brothers, Walter Atkins and John Atkins.
He is survived by two daughters, Lennis Cornwell of Linden and Betty Haley of Front Royal; two brothers, Clayton Atkins of Ohio mid Alsen Atkins of Sperryville; one sister, Eliza Atkins of Sperryville; nine grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
