The Flint, Hill United Methodist Church Annual Homecoming was held on Sunday with former pastor, Rev. A.D. Good son as guest speaker. Awards wre presented to Frances Bradford, Lucy Foster, Gaynelle Russell and Mabel Lillard for their years of long and faithful service in the church. Each of the ladies were presented a corsage and plaque.
The service was very meaningful and the covered dish dinner following at the fire hall was also well attended and eiyoyed by all. Among those attending came from Maryland, Front Royal; Lynchburg and Manassas.
Mrs. Barbara Mandell of Portsmouth has been a houseguest of Mrs. Linnie Cummings and Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Klise. i <
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lillard and Shirley Wade of Ashbum and Ned Peirpoint of Alexandria were Sunday guests in the Charles Hickerson home.
Rev. and Mrs. A.D. Goodson of South Hill spent the weekend with Mrs. Mabel Lillard returning to their home on Monday.
Ida Gibson of Front Royal was a Sunday guest of Miss Sallie Lillard and later in the day they had dinner at Country Cookin in Culpeper, i Jack Curtis who has been a patient in Winchester Medical Center is expected to return home this week. He is visited daily by his wife, Mary and son, Jim Curtis. Robert Curtis of Tulsa, Oka. has returned to his home after visting his father in the hospital. i,

Methodist Church services on Sunday, Oct. 2 will be at 11:15 a.m. with communion.

The Flint Hill Fire and Rescue will sponsor a barbecue dinner on Oct. 15 at the Carnival grounds and will be making apple butter on the 15th and 22nd. Anyone wishing to buy apple butter may call Connie Huff-Harris at 675-3389. v
Shrimp Feast
Festival Set
The fifth annual Shrimp Feast Fesival will be held at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown on Saturday, Oct. 22. “All You Can Eat” menu includes jumbo, steamed, , spiced shrimp, baked beans, cole slaw, assorted beverages, homemade desserts, and ice cream. Joe Wright, Chairman of the event, stated “Join us for a memorable evening, excellent food, music, and an auction featuring a piece of Henkel Harris furniture.”
Admission cost is $25 per person and all proceeds will benefit an endowment fund for student scholarships at the College. Corporate sponsorships are available for $250 a table. This inlcudes 10 tickets, reserved seating, and special recognition in the Lord Fairfax Community College Educational Foundation Report to the Community.
The Festival, scheduled from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, will feature a “live auction” and an opportunity to view the College campus. To purchase a ticket or for more information on the Shrimp Feast Festival at Lord Fairfax, please call 869-1120, Ext. 123.
