bright and creative classrooms at Spring Mountain. Several times he commented on the obvious love and joy of learning which is inherent in this school and how critical this is to true learning and to counteracting the trends of violence and rebellion in today’s school system.
While to some this may not seem a salient point, to this Waldorf parent it is the bottom line. The positive selfdiscovery and enlivening I see happening in my first grader every day at Spring Mountain is the reason we moved to this area. My child looks forward to school every day. 1 see her growing and incorporating the goals of this type of education: becoming a free, creative, independent, moral , happy, and functioning human being.
All parents should question which educational approach fosters the learning that places their children in a position of accomplishment in the world. My belief is that there is no one school yet that is perfect for everyone. But if there is a school such as Spring Mountain which can help our children love to learn and soar as they begome successful human beings, be grateful that it is in the community and support its efforts to meet the needs of everyone interested in such an education
If Spring Mountain were to become a charter school, it would simply add a new dimension to the choices in public education.
